colour cureIt once was handbags and shoes..

..but now it’s bright coloured vegetables that gets me all excited!

I’m always oooooing and ahhhhhing at beautiful coloured vegetables these days.

On my last trip to the Farmers Markets I purchased the most beautiful purple cauliflower, I didn’t need it I just had to have it…..you know how it is !colour cure

For years now I’ve had a thing for crazy coloured fruit and veg, but not just because they are aesthetically pleasing –  but because it’s where so much nutrition is held.

My favourite has always been purple.

Purple fruit and veg are nutritional powerhouses – the darker the better – it is scientifically proven  that the darker they are the higher antioxidant level.

Antioxidants are our good friends that mop up all those free radicals floating around in our body and keep us looking younger for longer!!

Purple traditionally symbolises royalty, luxury, sophistication and trust. So here are a few more reasons to put your trust in these purple delights and get more nutritionally potent purple in your diet…

colour cure♥ Purple Foods protect your heart as they are packed with flavonoids including resveratrol, known to be one of the most powerful phytochemicals. Flavonoids are extremely beneficial to the cardiovascular system and lower the risk of heart disease.

♥ Anthocyanin –  a colour pigment in purple foods has been found to act against the bacteria that cause stomach ulcers and gum disease. Plus, good intake of anthocyanin have also been linked to improving short – term memory, better vision, co – ordination and balance. colour cure

♥ Purple foods are also – good for your liver, help prevent urinary tract infections and studies have shown they can induce cancer cell death.

And on a spiritual level..

Purple is a great purifier of the bloodstream and also benefits mental problems. It is a freeing and purifying agent. This colours energy connects us to our unconscious self, and gives us the experience of being part of the whole universe.

And finally..

In colour there is life. To understand this power, is living. Colour could and well be the most magnificent experience we take for granted. Look  around; its everywhere, surrounding and embracing us. We interpret life as through colour as we do shape, texture and sound. The truth is, the power of colour is the very essence of life.

I found it scribbled in one of my old journals, I’m not sure who wrote it, but isn’t it beautiful ♥

I’m taking a two week break from the blog and will be back at the end of the month – and I can’t wait to share some delicious recipes with you from my up coming E Book!!!

Sending lots lots of love and purple light your way!

Have a wonderful week
