I have to confess, as healthy as it is…

I’m not a fan of sweating!!!

If I ever participate in any type of vigorous exercise (which is not very often) as soon as I feel the sweat coming on ..I usually just stop!

And as most of you know, I love a bit of yoga, but the thought of hot bikram yoga sends me running to the hills!!!

The first time I ever visited a nutritionist he seemed very interested in how often I sweated, which I found it quite strange, but he explained the vital health benefits – from releasing toxins, to the potent antibiotic agents in our sweat glands…..this was all news to me!

He suggested that if I didn’t want to leap around or go hard in the gym to get my sweat on – maybe I should try Infared saunas!

I froze!

For a girl that hates sweating that was the last thing I was up for!

But when he told me it’s nothing like stepping into a hot sweat box with dripping walls – but more like a warm cocoon, creating a slow, deep, detoxifying sweat – and they are usually single cabins with chilled tunes playing – this was sounding like it could be quite a pleasurable experience!

The Infa low down!…

Infrared’s deep penetrating heat most effectively stimulates metabolic activity, which in turn triggers the release of stored toxins through sweat, as well as through the liver and the kidneys.

♥ As we know sweating is the body’s most natural way to detoxify and eliminate toxins and Infrared saunas allow you to eliminate about seven times more toxins including mercury, lead and other environmental chemicals that we ingest daily.

♥ Infrared saunas are extremely relaxing and help balance the body’s level of cortisol, the stress hormone. The heat also relaxes muscles and tension through out the body. They are also great for speedy muscle

♥ The infrared wavelength is the most effective wavelength for healing the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin and stimulate collagen production to reduce wrinkles and improve your skin tone. It’s a perfect natural anti-aging treatment peeps!!

♥ They are excellent in winter months as infrared heat will stimulate circulation, rev up the production of white blood cells and rally your immune system’s response to nasty cold and flu invaders. This makes your body a less hospitable place for germs to grow!

And finally, (I love this!)

Heating your muscles with infrared rays produces an increase in blood flow, similar to that  seen during exercise. Plus it can significantly stimulate blood flow up to twice the normal rate. Yup! It’s like giving yourself a passive cardio workout while your sitting on your butt!!!

This could turn into an epic post with all the studies, science and Health Practitioners rave reviews on Infrared Saunas –  but I think you get the gist! This must for  your wellness to-do list!

As for me, I’m obsessed with them and so glad I finally found a way to have a good old sweat with all the added health benefits!

Take action now and find the nearest Infrared Sauna in your area. Your body will thank you for this one! And if your really minted you could get one installed in your home! Please let me know, I’d love to pop round!!!!!!

Have a wonderful week
