oil wellnessOils have always been my thing.

A few weeks ago I was going back and forth from the kitchen to the bathroom trying to find where all my oils were – and had a sudden realisation ……. I had actually put my salad dressing on my face!!

Yes – my olive oil, avocado and hemp oil were all stashed away in the bathroom along with the cider vinegar, coconut oil etc –  because I’m always using them on my face and body!

My kitchen ingredients are now my beauty powerhouses skin

In that same moment I totally got the saying that seems to be coming up on my radar for a while now..

“If you can’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin!”

But that’s a whole other blog post coming soon.

Ditching the dodgy chemical laden creams is one of the best things I have ever done for my skin. From treating eczema to wrinkles natural organic oils are my go to now, straight from mother nature.

Internally and externally, oils will nourish your body as they have high concentrations of vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids. Here are two of my favourites…

AVOCADO OIL

It’s no secret that avocados are one of the healthiest foods on our planet,  and the real success of this lovely little fruit is in the oil. oil

I love avocado oil as it is lighter than olive oil and doesn’t have the bitter taste. Its vitamin E can help strengthen the skin and immune system when ingested and it’s high in monounsaturated fats which is considered “heart healthy”.

And,  just like our good old friend coconut oil, it has a high smoke point, so its great for high temperature cooking as well as a salad dressing.

Avocado oil contains Lecithin and potassium which are highly beneficial for the skin and hair. When it is applied to the skin avocado oil increases collagen production which helps keep the skin plump and decreases the effects of ageing. When it’s massaged into the scalp regularly it can stimulate hair growth – plus keep it super soft and shiny!

Avocado oil’s beauty game is strong.

As more research is coming out this could be the one to watch and knock coconut oil right off it’s throne!!

HEMP SEED OIL

oil
Hemp oil is natures most balanced oil for human nutrition and is easily digestible. In fact this oil could provide all of our essential fatty acid (EFA) requirements for life, due to the balanced 80% EFA content of the oil. It has a mild nutty flavour and is ideal for a salad dressing, dip or to add to your smoothies. It’s not good for frying as this reduces the health benefits.

And for the skin…

Hemp seed oil protects the skin from free radicals and improves elasticity and scores 0 on comedogenic rating – which means it does not clog pores. Hemp seed oil actually helps reduce the size of pores by helping eliminate blackheads and acne.

Hemp seed oil has been called Nature’s Perfect Food For Humanity” – a wealth of health for everyone.

This is just the tip of the iceberg for the incredible healing benefits of these oils.

Explore, indulge and use nature as your pharmacy.

Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature, it will never fail you.
