IMG_2297[1]I’ve taken a completely different route this year .

No diets, no detoxes, no crazy fitness plan.

I decided to do a resolution reset and focus on what I love, what lights me up, and do more of that.

There are a few small goals to up my fitness levels but its all do-able and sustainable. 

As 2016 was fast approaching, my mental to do list, goals and resolutions was getting bigger and bigger and overwhelm was rearing her ugly head!!    

I’ve set myself some ridiculous New Year resolutions in the past, significantly unrealistic, totally out of alignment with where I’m usually at, that’s why they have ALWAYS resulted in an epic fail!

Timothy Pychyl, a professor of psychology at the Carlton University in Canada, says that resolutions are a form of “cultural procrastination”, an effort to reinvent oneself. People make resolutions as a way of motivating themselves, he says. Pychyl argues that if people aren’t ready to change their habits, particularly bad habits,  that accounts for the high failure rate. Another reason, says Dr Avya Sharma of the Canadian Obesity Network, is that people set unrealistic goals and expectations in their resolutions. 

Have a look at the goals and intentions you have set yourself for this month or the year and ask yourself “are they really in alignment with the internal view of myself”?

If not, maybe its time for a resolution reset.

So here’s my slight twist on reviewing your goals this year…

♥ Forget diets, they are boring. Just focus on eating well and make common sense common practise, you know what’s good for you and what’s bad for you right!

♥ When you eat clean your body will stay lean – that’s my motto!

♥ Whatever you choose for your health – be consistent not perfect.

♥ Just be your true authentic self – always  IMG_0434[1]

♥ Create habits not restrictions

♥ Faith….Believe you can and your half way there~Roosevelt

Always celebrate any little wins or milestones, its good for the soul. Even if its just a happy dance around the room!

Make sure that everything you choose for your health this year comes from a place of LOVE ♥

And finally, always check in with your WHY…why am I doing this. If you like the answer carry on, if you don’t then put the breaks on it!
