So October has gently fallen upon us and I would love to start getting all poetic but I won’t.
But what I am going to say is..
I absolutely love this time of year!
I love the Autumnal feels!
For me Autumn is a time for rejuvenation, preparation and hibernation.
It’s also a time for a little health review.
Keeping my immune system in tip top condition is always key throughout the year but I see this time as a good opportunity to up my game a bit.
So, I’m back on the mushrooms..
The real magic mushrooms!!
Medicinal mushrooms played a big part in my cancer healing journey, especially at the beginning as keeping my immune system strong and good energy levels were mucho importanto!!
My Chinese Doctor had me on a combination of medicinal mushrooms but today I am going to shine a big spotlight on Cordyceps.
Cordyceps are a type of fungus, better known as a species of medicinal, nutritional, beneficial, edible mushrooms.
They are also considered a time-honoured superfood that first originated in Traditional Chinese Medicine at least 5,000 years ago!
Cordyceps are an energising adaptogen ( adaptogens help the body adapt to stress) and hold a whole array of health boosting benefits from..
♥ Chronic fatigue and low energy
♥ Liver and kidney disorders
♥ Cancer and tumour growth
♥ Muscle weakness
♥ Heart disease and high cholesterol
They are also prized for their natural ability to fight free radicals, infections and inflammation as they affect the immune system positively, fighting oxidation damage and stimulating protective cells.
If there are any athletes in the house this is for you!
According to a 2007 study out of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, cordyceps can significantly boost your bodies ability to produce ATP (Adenosine triphosphate – your energy currency), which can help anyone from elderly people to staying active to elite, world class competitors!
The Final Takeaway…
In the International Journal of Medicinal Mushrooms they say that this potent fungus contains essential amino acids, several essential B-complex vitamins and the vitamins E and K. Plus beneficial monounsaturated fatty acids – including oleic acid which is found in olives.
When it comes to my shroom supplier its Four Sigmatic Foods, they have the perfect goods.
High quality cordyceps, reishi, chaga and lion’s main and don’t get me started on their mushroom coffee!
These guys are definitely on a mushroom mission. They have managed to turn powerful fungi into drinks that can easily be incorporated into your day and upgrade existing habits.
A total winner!
Take action now and get some magical mushrooms in your life! Indigenous cultures have been incorporating them in their diets for thousands of years – and they’ve even been hailed the original superfood!
Have a wonderful week
